Anyone in the safety field knows they didn’t get into this line of work for the accolades. But wouldn’t it be nice if those safety efforts were highlighted once in a while?
That’s why SafeStart is the title sponsor for the EHS Daily Advisor 2022 Safety Standout Awards and they are open for submissions this January (don’t worry, you have until April 1, 2022, to get your submissions in).
Awards are given out in six categories:
1. Best Overall Safety Program and Culture
Demonstrated understanding of hazard assessment, program improvement strategies, successful safety training and evidence of successful injury prevention methods.
2. BLR’s Lifetime Achievement in Safety Award
At least 10 years of experience in a leadership role (director level or higher) where safety is the primary function.
3. Innovations in Safety Training Award
Safety training programs that go beyond the norm with a commitment to compliance and continually improve the program specific to the company’s unique workforce.
4. Moving Beyond Compliance Award
Beyond compliance means addressing behavioral safety and human factors to achieve safety results that compliance alone can’t accomplish.
5. Best Safety Committee Award
Safety committee with varied representation effective at improving safety in the workplace and engaging a high level of communication throughout the company.
6. Young Safety Professional Excellence Award
Fewer than 10 years of experience in the safety field with demonstrated safety and leadership achievements.
In addition to bragging rights, winners will be announced in a press release plus they will receive a plaque, a feature on the EHS Daily Advisor website, and will be honored at the EHS Now virtual event in June 2022.
NOTE: Previous Safety Standout Award winners may not win twice in the same category, but they may be nominated for other categories. Check out the past winners here.
