This September, Atlanta will host Safety Culture 2018, a conference that aims to help professionals evaluate and fine-tune incentives and disciplinary systems, create engaging and effective safety cultures, and improve their safety training.
One of the event’s keynote speakers is SafeStart’s own Chief Client Officer, Don Wilson. His session Leadership for 24/7 Safety Culture, which happens on September 14 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., will address the impact that off-the-job injuries have on all companies and their workforce. To improve overall safety, leaders must realize that off-the-job injuries are not affected by traditional control strategies and a new approach to safety is needed to protect employees 24/7.
Gary Higbee, a Senior SafeStart Consultant, will also present at the conference. He will lead a workshop titled Human Factors in Risk Assessment on the first day of the event. Gary will help attendees understand how human factors affect the risk of performing any activity and why it’s important to include these factors in any risk assessment.
