Hunting Dangers Isn’t Just for Professionals

Recently, we noted that the Juncal Foundation, a non-profit organization, was teaching SafeStart to kids in South America.

This is part of a growing trend of SafeStart clients and community organizations focusing on delivering safety lessons to a younger audience by using SafeStart Home. Originally designed as a free educational resource for the families of SafeStart-trained workers, SafeStart Home now helps children around the world learn about the dangers of rushing, frustration, fatigue and complacency.

Educating kids about safety can present a distinct set of challenges, but the Juncal Foundation has shown there are a number of creative solutions to reach kids—such as engaging children by giving them an active role in hunting out dangers in order to prevent future accidents.

The image below is a badge given to children at the end of the foundation’s safety course to officially welcome them as honorary members of the Danger Hunter team.

We’d like to thank the Juncal Foundation for training hundreds more danger hunters who can now keep themselves and others safe from injury.

You can read the Juncal Foundation case study to learn all the details of how the non-profit is making kids safer. And if you’re interested in bringing crucial safety lessons like this to your community, please contact us to discuss how we can support you in providing safety skills to those who matter most.
